Job Summary
Participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team.

Essential Functions

• Participates as a member of the perioperative nursing team.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of the specialized equipment and supplies utilized by the anesthesia staff.
• Restocks the anesthesia supplies and/or equipment in the Operating Room after each case as needed.
• Under the direction of the anesthesia staff, cleans the equipment utilized in the delivery of anesthesia cases.
• Assists the registered nurse and anesthetist in transporting patients.
• Under the direct supervision of the Registered nurse and anesthetist, assists with positioning of patients for procedures.
• When not assigned to anesthesia support duties, will be assigned to PSA I tasks and duties.
• Transports and delivers items, equipment, and medications (excluding controlled substances and IV chemotherapy drugs)
  throughout the facility.
• May have limited access to areas storing medications.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
• Meets Orlando Health continuing education requirements.
• Evidences self-direction and personal accountability for their work practice and demonstrates responsiveness to departmental
  and facility needs.
• Performs duties in a cost efficient manner.
• Contributes to organizational effectiveness by reporting for duty on time, adhering to policies concerning rest and lunch breaks, and completes assigned duties in an effective, efficient manner.
• Performs team tasks by presenting a consistent professional image in appearance, work performance and communication
  practices.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude when interacting with patients, their families, visitors, other employees, physicians and other associates.
• Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary surgical healthcare team in both large and small work settings.
• Participates in PI activities as assigned.
• Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, patient rights and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting
  agencies.
• Able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the
  perioperative setting.

Education/Training
High School diploma or equivalent.

Licensure/Certification
Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Experience
90 days experience as PSA 1, CNA, or Clinical Technician; or Currently enrolled in or completed a Nursing, Surgical Tech or Medical Program.
