Orlando Health is preparing to open Wiregrass Ranch Hospital in 2026, and we are seeking a dynamic Director of Imaging Services to join the leadership team in advance of the opening. This role begins in 2025 and will play a key role in building and leading all imaging operations, supporting hospital readiness, and ensuring exceptional care delivery.

 

Job Summary
The Director of Imaging Services is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and managing Radiology and Nuclear Medicine services, assuring timely and accurate patient care while maintaining financial and operational standards.

 

What You’ll Lead
This role will oversee all imaging modalities, including:

  • Ultrasound

  • Nuclear Medicine

  • MRI

  • CT

  • Radiology

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Adhere to Orlando Health’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.

  • Develop and maintain departmental budgets, performance standards, and procedures.

  • Lead a team of 40+ full-time equivalents (FTEs), managing assignments, coaching, and performance.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory bodies including JCH, Florida Department of Health, and NRC.

  • Collaborate with corporate radiology consultants on acquisitions, quality, and system standards.

  • Develop new diagnostic services in alignment with advancing technology.

  • Maintain regular communication with the Medical Director of Radiology and hospital physicians.

  • Provide data reporting, executive summaries, and performance metrics to leadership.

  • Support professional development for self and staff.

  • Partner across departments to ensure effective hospital operations.

  • Ensure safety and compliance in all imaging practices.

Other Related Functions

  • Partner with the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) to ensure safe radioactive material practices.

  • Attend and conduct meetings with staff, physicians, and vendors as necessary.

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree and current licensure in Radiologic Technology, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, or Master’s degree in a related field required.

Licensure/Certification (Preferred)

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist license (State of Florida) or Florida State License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

  • ARRT, CNMT (NMTCB), or ARDMS certification.

  • BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years management or supervisory experience in a clinical setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to problem-solve in real time.

  • Strong knowledge of imaging services, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proven history of improving patient experience and imaging performance scores.

  • Demonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams and fostering a positive workplace culture.

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Understanding of PACS and IT system integration.

  • Ability to drive quality care through education, leadership, and accountability.
