Orlando Health’s newest hospital in Wesley Chapel, FMCOH Wiregrass Ranch Hospital, is seeking a Director of Quality Services to join the team ahead of our grand opening. This is a unique opportunity to help shape our hospital’s presence before we open our doors.
The Director of Quality Services is responsible for overseeing the Quality department and all quality initiatives within the facility. This role requires a dynamic and innovative leader who will guide the facility in becoming a high-performing, quality-focused organization.
About the Role
Provides leadership and support to activities, processes, and policies resulting in high quality patient care driven by system-wide clinical practices and standards. Works closely with the hospital’s nursing, medical staff, executives, and quality team to support the Orlando Health strategic vision for quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and all aspects of patient care that ties into the Orlando Health overall strategic plan and supports Orlando Health’s commitment to patient safety and best practice environment.
Essential Functions
Partners with medical, nursing, allied health/support services leadership, and senior leadership to implement strategies focused on quality, safety, and service
Collaborates with the performance improvement team and quality councils to identify and drive improvement opportunities
Responsible for hospital progress on quality scorecards and Board metrics
Builds and maintains strong working relationships with medical staff, leadership teams, and allied health/support services leaders
Participates in integrating healthcare technology and information systems that support service needs
Ensures compliance with all clinical regulatory standards (JCAHO, AHCA) at the hospital level
Works collaboratively with the CQO to develop and implement the hospital-level strategic plan for quality and safety
Promotes a culture and practice environment centered on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance
Creates a healthy and engaging work environment by fostering growth, challenge, and development for all team members
Leads workgroups to achieve success on hospital quality metrics
Partners with the CQO and CFO to develop and manage the department budget
Manages human resources functions including hiring, assignments, coaching, and performance counseling
Maintains regular, punctual attendance in alignment with Orlando Health policies and applicable regulations
Ensures compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures
Serves on committees related to quality and patient safety as appropriate
Provides staff education and training on quality and patient safety
Prepares reports to support physicians, managers, and leadership in identifying opportunities for improvement and tracking progress
Makes regular visits to hospital departments to promote a culture of quality and safety, act as a resource for staff, and identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced patient safety.
Education/Training
Master’s degree required in a clinical discipline, industrial engineering, or related field. MSN preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Active nursing license preferred.
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in leading patient care and quality initiatives in a healthcare institution.
