Job Overview:
Responsible for the administration and scoring of a variety of cognitive and psychological tests under the supervision of a clinical psychologist or clinical neuropsychologist.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Administers and scores psychological and neuropsychological tests.
  • Makes notes of behavioral observations during the assessment.
  • May be responsible for collecting demographic information from a patient, and where appropriate, entering test data or background information into a template.
    • Psychometrist does not interpret, diagnose, or treat any mental or neurological illness and does not formulate or integrate any clinical material, does not engage in clinical interviewing, and does not provide feedback of results to patients or their families during or after evaluations.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • May be responsible for various clerical or administrative duties that include but are not limited to: patient scheduling,
    procurement of office and testing supplies, etc.
  • Completes a written summary of patient testing performance.
  • Provides a written summary of the patient’s behavior during testing, including any interactions with the patient’s parents or peers that may be observed incidentally.
  • Attends training conferences offered by the department as well as by outside organizations.
  • Reviews and ensures timeliness, accuracy, and availability and security of information.
  • Complies with Infection Control and Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Understands, adheres to and models Core Standards as defined organizationally and specifically within the department/unit.
  • Maintains an appropriate environment requisite to the performance of neuropsychological testing duties including appropriate cleanliness, lighting, and environmental temperature regulation.
  • Attention to record confidentiality to the highest of standards is expected and in accordance with the American Psychological Association.
  • Demonstrates an open, honest, caring, and committed communication style with staff, visitors, patients, and families.
  • Practices efficient use of appropriate supplies and equipment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and expertise requisite to level of degree and requirements of position as stated

Qualifications

Education/Training
Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field.



Experience
Minimum of six months experience in a clerical, office, or general business and/or customer service setting
