Orlando Health is excited to announce a leadership opportunity at our newest facility, Wiregrass Ranch Hospital, set to open in 2026 in Wesley Chapel, Florida. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nursing Operations Manager to lead and support nursing operations in a dynamic, patient-focused environment.

Job Summary:

The Nursing Operations Manager (NOM) will have overall responsibility for all inpatient services at Wiregrass Ranch Hospital, including ICU, PCU, Cardiac, Surgical, and Med/Surg units. The NOM will provide strategic and operational oversight to ensure delivery of safe, high-quality care aligned with regulatory standards, organizational goals, and evidence-based practice.

 

This role requires a strong ICU background as the NOM will directly oversee ICU operations and work closely with an Assistant Nursing Operations Manager (ANOM) who will help to manage the Cardiac, Surgical, and Med/Surg areas. Additionally, the NOM will oversee contracted Dialysis services, PICC line nurses, and a Wound Care Nurse shared with Bayfront.

 

The Nursing Operations Manager will lead a team of registered nurses and clinical staff, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and professional development across all inpatient services.

 

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Provide overall leadership and daily operational oversight for all inpatient services: ICU, PCU, Cardiac, Surgical, and Med/Surg units.

  • Lead ICU operations, ensuring quality, safe, and efficient patient care delivery.

  • Collaborate with ANOM to support Cardiac, Surgical, and Med/Surg areas.

  • Oversee contracted Dialysis services, PICC line nurses, and Wound Care Nurse (shared with Bayfront).

  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability across all inpatient areas.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies including Joint Commission, OSHA, infection prevention, and risk management standards.

  • Manage departmental resources and budgets in a cost-effective, outcomes-driven manner.

  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain nursing staff; conduct performance evaluations and coaching.

  • Analyze and improve nursing delivery models to align with patient population needs and census.

  • Collaborate on the implementation of new technologies, clinical services, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Serve as a liaison between nursing leadership, staff, and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.

  • Facilitate team engagement, professional development, and participation in shared governance and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or graduate degree in business or health-related field preferred

Licensure/Certifications

  • Current RN license in the State of Florida or active compact (NLC) license

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – required

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – required

  • National leadership certification (e.g., NE-BC, NEA-BC, or AONL certification) required within two years of hire

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting

  • Minimum of one (1) year of leadership or supervisory experience

  • ICU clinical background is required due to oversight of critical care operations
