Orlando Health is proud to announce the opening of our newest facility, Wiregrass Ranch Hospital, in 2026. This hospital will launch with 102 beds and a scalable capacity of up to 300 beds. We are seeking a dynamic Nursing Operations Manager (NOM) to lead and shape our Pre-Surgery, Recovery Room, and Pre-Admission Testing departments.

This role offers a unique opportunity to help develop, hire, and lead a high-performing nursing team from the ground up while driving safe, patient-centered care in a brand-new, world-class facility.

 

Job Summary:

The Nursing Operations Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for designated inpatient care areas. This role is responsible for achieving departmental goals, ensuring quality clinical outcomes, and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the design and implementation of department workflows, training programs, and team development in preparation for hospital opening.
  • Recruit, hire, and mentor staff for the Pre-Surgery, Recovery Room, and Pre-Admission Testing units.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
  • Drive improvements in patient flow, safety, infection control, and clinical outcomes.
  • Serve as a liaison between nursing staff and senior leadership.
  • Foster a supportive, diverse, and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and staffing models.
  • Participate in implementation of new technologies and evidence-based practices.
  • Promote nursing excellence and support team member professional development.
  • Ensure patient experience and satisfaction remain at the forefront of care delivery.

Qualifications

Education & Licensure:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or BSN with a graduate degree in a healthcare/business-related field preferred.
  • Current Florida RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
  • National nursing leadership certification (e.g., ANCC, AONL) required within 2 years of hire.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an acute care setting.
  • At least 1 year of formal leadership experience required.
  • Preferred: Background in Critical Care or Phase 1 PACU.
