Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Completes the start of day processes, including powering equipment and uncovering keratometer/autoreftracter, visial field, Ascan room if needed.
  • Properly rooms patients based on standard operating procedures and assists the physician during the examination and procedures.
  • Performs diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the provider
  • Processes and assists providers with requests, including handling medication refill requests and completing forms requested by patients.
  • Handles patient and clinical messages:
  • Distributes, reviews, and teaches patient education
  • Prepares and processes paperwork for the charts; make sure ordered tests have been performed and results are present.
  • Completes the end of day processes per standard operating procedures.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Training

  • High School Graduate or equivalent

Licensure/Certification

  • None

Experience

  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Strong team player
  • Basic Computer proficiency
